What's Happening?
The Harvard-Westlake Parents Association (HWPA) organized a Senior Appreciation event on February 11, featuring a Valentine's Day theme. The event included a lunch with Panda Express and heart-shaped candy boxes for seniors, aiming to celebrate their
achievements and hard work. These monthly events are part of a series designed to honor seniors throughout the year, culminating in activities like Grad Night and the Senior Send Off. The initiative is supported by parent volunteers who plan and execute these events to make the senior year memorable.
Why It's Important?
Senior Appreciation events play a crucial role in recognizing the efforts and achievements of students as they approach graduation. These events foster a sense of community and belonging, providing students with opportunities to reflect on their high school experiences. For parents and the school community, these celebrations are a way to support and encourage students during a pivotal time in their lives. The events also highlight the importance of parental involvement in education, contributing to a supportive and nurturing school environment.
