The Department of State has announced a temporary final rule that introduces a $750 fee for expedited B1/B2 visa interview appointments. This new fee is part of a pilot program designed to allow business and tourism visa applicants to secure interview appointments within
10 business days at selected overseas posts. The program, effective from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, aims to accommodate up to 25,000 expedited requests. The expedited service is limited in availability and does not guarantee visa issuance, as applicants must still meet all standard eligibility and processing requirements.
