What's Happening?
The Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) has launched its first international satellite clinic in Modi’in, Israel, aimed at providing mental health care to military personnel and their families. This initiative is a collaboration with Sheba Medical Center and supported
by Friends of the Israel Defense Forces and the UJA-Federation of New York. The clinic offers personalized therapy for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD, utilizing a proven model that emphasizes short-term, accessible care. The opening ceremony highlighted the urgent need for mental health services among military communities, with the clinic expected to serve thousands of individuals affected by recent conflicts.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of CVN’s mental health care model to Israel represents a significant step in addressing the mental health crisis among military personnel. By providing specialized care tailored to the unique challenges faced by service members and their families, the initiative aims to improve mental health outcomes and reduce the stigma associated with seeking help. This model could serve as a blueprint for other countries facing similar challenges, emphasizing the importance of accessible and effective mental health care. The collaboration with local organizations underscores the global nature of mental health issues and the need for international cooperation in developing solutions.
