Glen Oaks Community College is actively participating in Michigan Manufacturing Week by collaborating with regional employers to enhance the state's manufacturing and mobility sectors. The college has
utilized funds from the Electric Vehicle Jobs Academy (EVJA) grant and the Going PRO Talent Fund to deliver specialized training sessions. Between August 13 and September 25, Glen Oaks conducted 14 customized training sessions for 107 employees from companies such as American Axle, XL/Burke Porter, Morgan Olson, II Stanley, and DeNooyer Automotive Group. These sessions focused on robotics, automation, PLC programming, blueprint reading, OSHA 10, and supply chain management. DeNooyer Automotive Group specifically used the grant for leadership and sales training to adapt to the growing electric vehicle market. The initiative aims to strengthen Michigan's position in the evolving electric vehicle industry.
