What's Happening?
András Vujovits has developed a delta pen plotter capable of drawing in multiple colors, featuring a unique motion system and a magnetic tool changer. The plotter uses two NEMA 17 stepper motors to control the pen carriage's position, allowing for precise
XY movement. An Arduino Nano with a GRBL shield manages the plotter's operations. The tool changer enables the plotter to switch between different ink colors seamlessly, using Muji ballpoint pens for clean, colorful lines. This innovation enhances the plotter's versatility and artistic potential.
Why It's Important?
The development of a multicolor delta pen plotter represents a significant advancement in automated drawing technology. By incorporating a tool changer, the plotter can produce complex, colorful designs without manual intervention. This capability expands the applications of plotters in fields such as graphic design, art, and education. The project demonstrates the potential for combining mechanical engineering with creative expression, offering new opportunities for artists and designers to explore automated techniques in their work.
