What's Happening?
The Columbus Blue Jackets have successfully wrapped up their inaugural summer clinics, focusing on skills and drills for participants. The clinics, held in partnership with the USA Hockey Level 5 Coaches Symposium, offered a variety of sessions including Try Hockey For Free, Goalie, and Referee clinics. Over 100 kids and adults participated, experiencing hockey in new and engaging ways. The initiative aimed to introduce and develop hockey skills among community members, fostering interest and participation in the sport.
Why It's Important?
These clinics are significant for community engagement and the development of hockey skills among participants. By offering free sessions, the Blue Jackets are promoting inclusivity and accessibility in sports, potentially increasing local interest in hockey. The initiative supports the growth of the sport at grassroots levels, encouraging more people to participate and potentially pursue hockey professionally. It also strengthens community ties and enhances the team's presence in the region, contributing to the overall popularity and support for the Blue Jackets.
