What's Happening?
The University of Oregon has begun construction on the Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health, one of the largest all-mass-timber healthcare projects in the U.S. Designed by ZGF Architects
and built by Skanska, the 54,000-sf facility will house the Ballmer Institute and the Prevention Science Institute. The building will feature cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glulam, forming a superstructure supported by concrete foundations. The project aims to support education, research, and community partnerships, enhancing Oregon's behavioral health workforce and improving outcomes for children and families.
