The DEEP Vanguard, a new underwater habitat developed by UK company DEEP, has been deployed off the Florida Keys, marking the first subsea station in the U.S. in 40 years. The habitat is designed to support scientific research on coral reefs, aiming to monitor
and restore coral ecosystems affected by climate change. The project is supported by funding from the U.S. Office of Naval Research and involves collaboration with Florida International University. The habitat will house aquanauts for extended missions, providing a platform for marine biology research and education.
