The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), through its Trusted Access Program Office (TAPO) and Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA), has accredited GlobalFoundries' manufacturing facility in Malta, New York. This accreditation grants GlobalFoundries a Category
1A Trusted Supplier status, enabling it to produce secure semiconductors for various aerospace and defense applications. The facility has met the DoD's stringent standards for security procedures, equipment, and supervision, and is certified to produce secure chips, including those utilizing advanced 12nm FinFET technologies.
