The 31st annual Penguin Plunge event took place at the Burlington waterfront on March 14, raising over $585,000 for Special Olympics Vermont. More than 1,100 participants braved the cold waters of Lake Champlain to support sports training, competition
opportunities, health screenings, and leadership programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event, presented by Community Bank, featured various teams, including the Chittenden Chatterers, who emerged as the top fundraising team for the second consecutive year, raising over $29,000. The Cool Schools Penguin Plunge also contributed significantly, with over 600 participants raising more than $150,000, led by Browns River Middle School's team of 76 plungers who raised $20,941.
