Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) has announced that his office is now accepting nomination applications for eligible young Western Pennsylvanians interested in attending a United States service academy. As an alumnus of the U.S. Naval Academy, Congressman Deluzio expressed

The service academies for which nominations are being accepted include the U.S. Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs), the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point), the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), and the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis). The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements as of July 1 of the year of admission, including age (at least 17, not yet 23, or 25 for the Merchant Marine Academy), U.S. citizenship and permanent residency in Pennsylvania, unmarried status with no legal obligation to support dependents, and residency within Pennsylvania's 17th Congressional District.
