What's Happening?
Iceye has introduced a new intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) cell designed to enhance the use of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite imagery in tactical military contexts. The system, housed in a 20-ft container, provides direct data access to troops in the field, featuring workstations for satellite tasking, data processing, and dissemination. The ISR cell costs approximately €10 million ($11.7 million) and includes options for dedicated ground downlinks. Iceye, which currently operates 54 satellites, plans to expand its constellation by launching 40 satellites next year, doubling its current capacity.
