What's Happening?
In response to upcoming changes in federal food assistance requirements, Illinois has launched two online platforms, Job Ready IL and Serve Illinois, to support households at risk of losing benefits. These resources provide access to training programs,
employment opportunities, and volunteer work that meet the new work requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The initiative is a collaboration between the Illinois Department of Human Services and various workforce development foundations, aiming to help recipients maintain their benefits by fulfilling work requirements.
