A Delta Air Lines flight from Sao Paulo to Atlanta was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff due to a mechanical issue with its left engine. The Airbus A330-300, carrying 272 passengers and 14 crew members, experienced flames and sparks
emanating from the engine, prompting the emergency landing at Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport. The aircraft landed safely, and passengers were transported to the terminal by bus. Delta has stated that the safety of its customers and crew is its highest priority and is working to reaccommodate passengers on alternate flights. No injuries were reported during the incident.
