What's Happening?
Construction is set to begin on February 16 at the intersection of Randall Road and Route 72, which serves as a border between Elgin and West Dundee. The Kane County Division of Transportation announced that the project aims to enhance traffic flow and safety
by adding a third lane to both the northbound and southbound sections of Randall Road. Additional improvements include the installation of new paths, storm sewers, traffic signal modifications, intersection lighting, roadway resurfacing, and landscape restoration. Despite the ongoing construction, the intersection will remain open to traffic, although temporary lane closures will occur daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The project is expected to be completed by the end of December, weather permitting.
