NordicTrack has issued a recall for its rowing machines sold in the U.S. and Canada due to a fire risk associated with the screen console. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that the consoles can overheat and ignite, with six
reports of smoking or melting screens and two reports of fires. Although no injuries have been reported, the incidents have resulted in at least $6,000 in property damage. The affected machines were sold between November 2018 and April 2022 through various retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Consumers are advised to stop using the machines immediately and contact iFIT Inc., the importer, for a free repair involving a replacement screen console.
