What's Happening?
Issam Kourbaj, a renowned artist, is mentoring three emerging artists for the Beyond Emerging Artists programme at Abu Dhabi Art. The event, scheduled from November 19-23, 2025, at Manarat al-Saadiyat,
aims to showcase new works by these artists. Kourbaj, who has a background in Syria, St Petersburg, and London, is guiding the artists in creating pieces that reflect their unique perspectives and connections to place. The artists, Salmah Almansoori, Maktoum Al Maktoum, and Alla Abdunabi, are working on commissions that will be displayed both at the fair and outdoors in Al Ain, a city 80 miles from Abu Dhabi. This dual exhibition approach allows the artworks to converse with each other, offering viewers a comprehensive narrative experience.
