What's Happening?
Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, in collaboration with Silexion Therapeutics, has launched a world-first clinical trial for an experimental treatment targeting KRAS mutations in pancreatic cancer. The trial will evaluate SIL204, a treatment using small
interfering RNA molecules to suppress mutated KRAS genes. KRAS mutations are present in approximately 90% of pancreatic cancer cases and are a major driver of tumor growth. The trial aims to assess whether silencing these mutations can inhibit tumor growth in patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. The initial phase will enroll 18 patients, focusing on safety, with plans to expand to additional centers in Europe.
