What's Happening?
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced that hunting and trapping licenses for the 2026-27 season are now available. The licenses, along with Deer Management Permits (DMPs), can be purchased online, by phone, or at DEC's
license-issuing agents. The DEC has made regulatory changes to manage deer populations, including expanding the September antlerless season and introducing the Earn-a-2nd-Buck tag system. The DEC Call Center will operate extended hours to assist with license purchases. The DEC encourages hunters to stay informed about regulation changes and to consider purchasing a Habitat & Access Stamp to support conservation projects.
