Bandai Namco, in collaboration with Hamster Corporation, has announced the return of the classic arcade shooter Tokyo Wars under the new title Arcade Archives 2: Tokyo Wars. This updated version will be
available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The original Arcade Archives: Tokyo Wars is also set to release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on November 6. The game, originally launched in 1996, allows players to engage in battles for control over the city. The new version retains the franchise's signature gameplay while introducing modern features such as a customizable 'Original Mode' for adjusting difficulty, display, and controls. Additional features include a Time Attack mode, Split-Screen option, and support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) to enhance visual fluidity. Retro enthusiasts can enjoy authentic CRT monitor filters to recreate the 1990s arcade atmosphere.
