What's Happening?
Dennis Raglin has joined Carlton Fields as a shareholder in its business litigation practice in Los Angeles. Raglin brings over 30 years of experience in counseling and defending clients concerning California's
Proposition 65, a law requiring businesses to provide warnings about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. His expertise extends to advising on a wide range of state consumer chemical regulations, including PFAS, recycling, packaging, and product liability claims, particularly in the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to this, Raglin was with Steptoe LLP.
Why It's Important?
Raglin's move to Carlton Fields is significant as it bolsters the firm's capabilities in handling complex litigation related to Proposition 65, a critical regulatory framework in California. This law impacts numerous industries, including cosmetics, food, and personal care products, by mandating transparency about chemical exposures. Businesses operating in California must navigate these regulations to avoid legal challenges and potential penalties. Raglin's extensive experience in this area will be invaluable to Carlton Fields' clients, helping them manage compliance and mitigate risks associated with chemical exposure claims.
