Guernsey has reported an increase in hotel, bed and breakfast, and hostel stays in October, with occupancy rates rising to 60%, a 7% increase from the previous year. This growth is attributed to Visit Guernsey's strategic marketing efforts to promote
the island as a year-round destination. The campaign aims to extend the tourism season beyond summer, providing a steadier income for local businesses. The increase in visitors includes both business and leisure travelers, which is crucial for sustaining the hospitality sector during the typically slower winter months. Local hotels, such as the Pandora Hotel and the Old Government House Hotel, have reported significant occupancy increases, highlighting the success of these marketing strategies.
