The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School girls golf team achieved a notable second-place finish in the IHSA Class 1A Dwight Regional. The event took place on Tuesday, where the team, known as the lady Falcons, scored a total of 405. This score allowed them to qualify for the upcoming Pontiac Sectional, scheduled for Monday. In addition to the team’s success, individual golfer Lilyan Sizemore excelled by shooting an 85, securing the first-place position among all participating golfers. The competition also saw Manteno and Iroquois West qualifying for the next stage with scores of 405 and 413, respectively.
