A tragic bus accident in Guatemala resulted in the deaths of 15 passengers and injuries to at least 15 others. The incident occurred when an intermunicipal bus veered off the road and fell into a ravine
near the town of Totonicapán on the Inter-American Highway. Rescue operations were challenging, taking over two hours to recover the bodies and assist the injured. The Guatemalan government has declared a three-day national mourning period in response to the tragedy. President Bernardo Arevalo expressed his condolences and assured that necessary actions are being coordinated to support those affected.
