Two Turkish munitions producers, Arca Defense and MKE, are expanding their operations in response to increased European demand for ammunition. This demand surge is influenced by the ongoing war in Ukraine and delays in U.S. supply due to its operations against
Iran. Arca Defense, through its subsidiary Arca Baltics Operations, plans to invest EUR300 million (USD350 million) in a new ammunition factory in Estonia. The facility will produce various types of artillery and mortar rounds, with production expected to commence in 2028. Additionally, Arca is expanding its small arms ammunition factory in Turkey to include larger caliber munitions. Meanwhile, MKE is also enhancing its production capabilities to support Turkey's defense self-sufficiency goals.
