What's Happening?
Stoneco of Michigan has successfully raised over $450 for Little Blessings Outreach, a veteran-owned organization based in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. The funds were collected through a holiday employee raffle, where employees purchased tickets to win company
items. Little Blessings Outreach, founded by veteran Jamie Paxton, provides resources and support to veterans transitioning back into civilian life, as well as assistance to their families. Stoneco, a subsidiary of CRH, operates multiple limestone quarries and sand and gravel operations in Michigan, and this initiative reflects their commitment to community support.
Why It's Important?
This fundraising effort highlights the role of corporate social responsibility in supporting veteran communities. By contributing to Little Blessings Outreach, Stoneco is aiding in the reintegration of veterans into civilian life, addressing a critical need for many who have served. The initiative not only benefits the veterans and their families but also strengthens community ties and sets a precedent for other businesses to engage in similar philanthropic activities. Such efforts can lead to improved mental health and economic stability for veterans, ultimately benefiting society as a whole.
