What's Happening?
Gekko Systems, in collaboration with CSIRO, has introduced the OLGA Mk3, an advanced version of the OnLine Gold Analyser. This new system is designed to provide continuous, automated analysis of gold concentration in slurries and solutions. The OLGA Mk3 replaces
delayed manual sampling with real-time data, allowing operators to optimize recovery, reduce losses, and make faster, data-driven decisions. The system delivers updated sub-parts per million (ppm) gold measurements every 10 minutes, offering insights into process performance that are not possible with traditional assayed sample sets. The OLGA Mk3 features dual-size X-ray optics for sharper gold peak detection and improved interference rejection for elements like arsenic, lead, and zinc. It also includes a streamlined pipe flow design and simplified maintenance access.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the OLGA Mk3 represents a significant advancement in gold processing technology. By providing real-time data, the system enables mining operators to minimize gold losses and optimize their processes more effectively. This can lead to increased efficiency and profitability in the gold mining industry. The ability to monitor multiple streams simultaneously expands the diagnostic reach across the plant, supporting broader metallurgical optimization. The OLGA Mk3 sets a new benchmark in gold process monitoring, potentially influencing industry standards and practices.
