The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse is set to open a new Life & Workforce Readiness Center at the Terry Erickson Center as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations in 2026. This 16,000-square-foot
facility aims to provide middle and high school students with hands-on experience in various industries, addressing the skills gap in the region. The center will feature over a dozen academies, including a construction lab, innovation lab, and a media lab with a podcast studio. Additionally, it will offer a 'life skills' studio apartment to teach essential tasks like cooking and financial literacy. The initiative is designed to connect students with community partners for internships and apprenticeships, ultimately leading to stable, high-paying jobs.
