What's Happening?
The World Food Programme (WFP) is enhancing its Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) efforts across the Latin America and Caribbean region. The initiative is led by a Regional Food Safety & Quality Assurance Officer based in Panama City, who reports
to the Chief of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Unit in Rome. This role involves providing technical guidance and leadership to support country offices in managing food safety and quality risks. The FSQA approach is integrated into WFP's supply chain, ensuring compliance with food safety standards from sourcing to distribution. The program supports various activities, including emergency response, school feeding, and local food procurement, across 15 countries in the region.
