Raquel da Cunha Recuero has been named a member of the Ethics Committee for the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE) for the 2024/2025 term. Recuero holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Information from the Federal University of Rio
Grande do Sul (2006) and a Master's degree in the same field (2002). Her academic background also includes a degree in Social Communication with a specialization in Journalism (1998) and a Law degree (1999). She coordinates the MIDIARS research laboratory, focusing on Media, Discourse, and Social Network Analysis. Additionally, Recuero is a professor and researcher at the Center for Letters and Communication at the Federal University of Pelotas and a researcher in the Postgraduate Program in Communication at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Her extensive experience includes serving as Vice-President of Compós (2021-2022) and as an Open Seat on the Executive Board of the Association of Internet Researchers (2021-2023). She is also a member of the CNPq Communication Advisory Committee (2024-2027) and the advisory board for the Oxford Intersections book series by Oxford University Press.
