What's Happening?
Allied Moulded Products, Inc. has announced the expansion of its flexBOX Vapor Seal line with new models designed to enhance energy efficiency in residential construction. The new additions, P-442NV and
PC234-NV, feature a patent-pending tapered flange design that ensures an air-tight seal against vapor barriers and drywall, reducing air leakage. These models meet the 2024 International Building Codes for Air-Tight electrical box standards, offering less than 1 CFM air loss rating, which is below the industry standard of 2 CFM. The products are aimed at helping buildings qualify for Energy Star ratings and rebates.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of the Vapor Seal line is significant as it addresses the growing demand for energy-efficient building solutions in the U.S. As more regions adopt energy-saving measures, products like these can help builders and contractors meet stringent building codes and potentially reduce energy costs. This development is crucial for the construction industry, which is increasingly focused on sustainability and reducing environmental impact. Allied Moulded's innovation could lead to broader adoption of energy-efficient practices, benefiting both consumers and the environment.
