What's Happening?
Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida (RMHCNCF) has announced the appointment of John Thomas as its new Chief Philanthropy Officer, effective November 9, 2025. Thomas brings over 15
years of experience in nonprofit leadership, focusing on fundraising and community engagement. In his new role, he will manage fundraising, events, volunteering, and communications to bolster support for RMHCNCF's mission of supporting families with ill or injured children. His previous roles include Vice President of Advancement and Interim Chief Executive Officer at GRACE Marketplace, where he significantly increased philanthropic support. Thomas expressed his personal connection to the mission, having spent time in hospitals as a child, and is eager to contribute to the organization's success.
Why It's Important?
The appointment of John Thomas is significant as it aims to strengthen RMHCNCF's capacity to support families during critical times. By enhancing fundraising and community engagement, the organization can expand its services and reach more families in need. This move is expected to improve health outcomes for children by ensuring families can stay close during medical treatments. The leadership change could also inspire increased community involvement and donations, crucial for sustaining the charity's operations. Stakeholders, including families, healthcare providers, and donors, stand to benefit from the enhanced focus on strategic philanthropy.
