Vodafone Group and Vodafone Ukraine have announced plans to construct the Kardesa submarine cable system across the Black Sea, connecting Bulgaria, Georgia, Turkey, and Ukraine. The €116 million project
aims to provide an alternative route for internet traffic that bypasses Russian territory, enhancing regional connectivity. The cable is expected to deliver 500 Tbps of capacity, addressing the limitations of existing infrastructure. The first cable landing is anticipated in Bulgaria by 2027.
