What's Happening?
A-FLOW, a joint venture between FLOW Digital Infrastructure and AyalaLand Logistics, has launched its first data centre in the Philippines. Located in Biñan, Laguna, the ML1 facility is part of a planned three-building campus with a total capacity of 36MW.
The data centre is designed to be scalable and customizable, catering to diverse customer needs from colocation to cloud service providers. It is also a carrier-neutral facility, enhancing network resilience. A-FLOW President Sanjay Goel stated that the ML1 data centre will support the growing demand for secure and scalable digital infrastructure in the Philippines, contributing to the country's ambitions to become a competitive digital hub in Southeast Asia.
Why It's Important?
The launch of the ML1 data centre is a significant step towards enhancing the Philippines' digital infrastructure. As the demand for cloud and AI services continues to grow, the availability of robust data centres is crucial for supporting digital innovation and economic growth. This development positions the Philippines as a key player in the Southeast Asian data centre market, which is projected to experience rapid growth. The ML1 facility not only provides local businesses with improved digital capabilities but also attracts international companies looking to expand their operations in the region. This could lead to increased investment and job creation, further boosting the country's economy.
