Chiranjeevi Kolla, a 37-year-old Indian tech professional residing in California, has died from Valley Fever, a rare fungal infection. The infection, caused by inhaling spores of the Coccidioides fungus found in dry soil in parts of California and the southwestern
United States, severely affected his lungs, leading to respiratory failure. Kolla initially developed flu-like symptoms in early April, which worsened, leading to his hospitalization.
