Cambridgeshire County Council has announced a reduction in speed limits on its guided busway network, effective from Monday. The decision comes after three fatalities occurred on the busway between 2015 and 2021. The speed limit will be lowered to 30mph along the busway and 20mph at crossing points. This measure is part of a broader safety initiative that includes the installation of permanent fencing and barriers, expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Bus operator Stagecoach East has warned passengers to expect delays of up to 45 minutes due to these changes.
