OPES Solar Mobility has opened a new production facility in Zwenkau, Germany, dedicated to manufacturing flexible solar panels for vehicle integration. The 12,000 square meter facility will create 120
jobs and produce solar panels for commercial and recreational vehicles. These panels supply power to electrical systems in both diesel and electric vehicles, extending driving range and increasing battery lifespan. The facility will deliver modules to over 15 partners and customers across Europe, Africa, and South America for integration into various vehicles, including camper vans, refrigerated trailers, city buses, and truck cabins. OPES Solar Mobility developed the modules with research partners, using proprietary patents and custom-built machinery.
