Afghanistan's Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Mawlawi Attaullah Omari, has called for technical assistance from India to modernize Afghanistan's agricultural sector. During an interactive session organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, Omari emphasized the historical ties between the two nations and expressed gratitude for the hospitality received in India. He highlighted the critical role of agriculture in Afghanistan, noting that 80% of the population relies on it for their livelihood. Omari pointed out the need for modern infrastructure and training to enhance the country's agricultural productivity, particularly in fruit production.
