Employees from Blizzard's Hearthstone and Warcraft Rumble teams have voted to unionize with the Communications Workers of America (CWA). Over 100 workers, including software engineers, designers, artists, quality assurance testers, and producers, have joined
CWA Local 9510 in Irvine, California. Microsoft has recognized the union. The organizing committee, represented by senior 2D artist Uriah Voth, emphasized the need for layoff protections, security for remote workers, and reduced wage gaps. This move follows the unionization of more than 500 World of Warcraft developers last July.
