What's Happening?
The US Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC) is set to receive 81 mm Scorpion Light Mobile Mortar Systems as part of a contract with Global Military Products (GMP). The contract, valued at USD 4.9 million, aims to enhance the mobility, efficiency,
and survivability of MARSOC units. The new mortar systems, designed by Spanish company NTGS and upgraded for US use by GMP, will be integrated onto Polaris Government and Defense's MRZR-Alpha 6x6 vehicles. The systems are expected to be delivered by the end of the year, with the integration of the Nett Warrior fire control system currently underway.
