What's Happening?
Domes Resorts has announced the expansion of its European presence by taking over the management of the Cascade Wellness Resort in Lagos, Algarve. This marks Domes' second property in Portugal and its third outside Greece. The resort, owned by Hotel Investment
Partners (HIP), is located on the cliffs of Ponta da Piedade and offers panoramic Atlantic views. It features 164 accommodations and a variety of facilities, including pools, a spa, fitness center, tennis courts, and FIFA-standard football pitches. The resort's culinary offerings include four venues that blend international cuisine with local Algarve flavors. This expansion is part of Domes Resorts' strategy to grow in key Mediterranean destinations through partnerships with leading institutional investors.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of Domes Resorts into Portugal signifies a strategic move to capitalize on the region's established reputation as a leisure destination. By partnering with HIP, Domes is reinforcing its presence in the Mediterranean, a region known for its tourism appeal. This move not only strengthens Domes' portfolio but also highlights the growing trend of experiential travel and design-led hospitality. The partnership with HIP, backed by Blackstone and GIC, underscores the potential for high-quality resort assets in prime locations to attract significant investment and tourism, benefiting local economies and the hospitality industry.
