What's Happening?
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is developing a plan to rebuild State Route 153 after flash flooding caused extensive damage, washing out miles of roadway in Beaver Canyon. The western portion of the highway is particularly affected, with
significant sections of the road no longer existing. UDOT is using survey-grade drones to assess the damage and finalize reconstruction plans. The department aims to secure temporary access for residents and cabin owners by fall, with a more resilient permanent reconstruction planned to withstand future flooding.
