What's Happening?
Slough Borough Council and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have launched AskSARA, a new online tool providing advice on over 90 topics, including household chores and staying active. The service is free, requires no sign-up, and does not collect personal data. Catherine del Campo, RBWM's cabinet member for health, emphasized that the tool aims to help residents remain independent and make informed wellbeing choices.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of AskSARA represents a significant step towards enhancing community support and accessibility to information. By offering a wide range of advice without the need for personal data collection, the service prioritizes user privacy and convenience. This initiative could serve as a model for other local governments seeking to improve public health and wellbeing through digital solutions, potentially reducing the burden on traditional social services.
