What's Happening?
The Tea Association of India (TAI) has expressed approval of the Union Budget 2026-27 presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The budget is described as progressive, with a focus on empowering youth and strengthening sectors such as agriculture,
MSMEs, infrastructure, tourism, and energy security. Key initiatives include the launch of 'Bharat-VISTAAR', an AI-powered agricultural advisory platform, and the extension of the Pradhan Mantri Cha Shramik Protsahan Yojana for tea workers' welfare. The budget also introduces a Rs 10,000 crore MSME Growth Fund to support scalable firms and measures to assist MSMEs with compliance and regulatory requirements.
