What's Happening?
BDx Data Centers has secured a $320 million loan facility to support the development of its AI-focused data center campus in Jakarta, Indonesia. The loan, led by Bank Permata, BCA, and KB Bank, will fund strategic initiatives including the expansion of CGK3,
a liquid-cooled campus designed for high-density compute infrastructure. The facility aims to cater to the growing demand for AI and cloud services in Southeast Asia. BDx plans to use the loan proceeds to refinance existing debt and increase the high-voltage grid capacity at its Jatiluhur and Suryacipta campuses to 1.2 GVA, accommodating US and regional hyperscaler and AI customers.
Why It's Important?
The investment in Indonesia's data center infrastructure is crucial for supporting the region's digital growth and AI adoption. BDx's focus on energy-efficient facilities aligns with the increasing demand for sustainable and resilient digital infrastructure. The development of AI-optimized campuses positions Indonesia as a key player in Southeast Asia's digital economy, attracting international tech companies and investors. This growth in digital infrastructure is expected to enhance Indonesia's competitiveness in the global market, driving economic development and technological innovation.
