Providence Health & Services has partnered with Humana to create a scalable data exchange ecosystem aimed at improving interoperability and care coordination within the healthcare industry. This initiative
is set to streamline data sharing between payers and providers, aligning with federal interoperability priorities and the White House's commitment to a patient-centric healthcare ecosystem. The partnership seeks to replace outdated, paper-based processes with secure, digital data exchange. The ecosystem will initially focus on automating member attribution for Humana Medicare Advantage members, helping providers understand which patients are under their care. The collaboration uses HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) and other modern APIs to build its infrastructure, which is expected to serve as a scalable model for the industry.
