What's Happening?
The Geological Survey of Queensland has completed the Boodjamulla–Croydon Deep Seismic Programme, using Vibroseis trucks to uncover untapped deposits of critical minerals in North-West Queensland. The $4.5 million project, conducted in collaboration with
Geoscience Australia, aimed to map underground rock formations and identify minerals such as copper and zinc. The survey, which ran from July to September 2025, covered 842 km and focused on improving understanding of the region's crustal architecture. The data generated will be released by December 2025, with processed data expected in early Q4 2026.
