The United States has secured a significant rare earth deal in Greenland, marking a strategic move to reduce its reliance on mineral-rich African nations and China. REalloys, a Florida-based company, signed a 15-year offtake agreement with Critical Metals
Corp. for 15% of Phase 1 production from the Tanbreez project in southern Greenland. This deposit is one of the world's largest sources of heavy rare earth elements, crucial for advanced military technologies. The deal aligns with the U.S. strategy to diversify its critical mineral supply chains, especially as a Pentagon requirement will soon restrict the use of Chinese-origin materials in defense applications.
