What's Happening?
Dennis Raglin has joined Carlton Fields as a shareholder in its business litigation practice in Los Angeles. Raglin brings over 30 years of experience in counseling and defending clients under California's Proposition 65, a law that mandates businesses
to provide warnings about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. His expertise extends to advising on various state consumer chemical regulations, including PFAS, recycling, packaging, and product liability claims, particularly in the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to this, Raglin was with Steptoe LLP.
Why It's Important?
Raglin's move to Carlton Fields is significant as it strengthens the firm's capabilities in handling complex litigation related to Proposition 65 and other consumer chemical regulations. This is crucial for businesses operating in California, where compliance with such regulations is mandatory and can be challenging. His extensive experience in defending product liability claims also adds value to Carlton Fields' offerings, potentially attracting more clients in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. This development underscores the ongoing demand for legal expertise in navigating California's stringent regulatory environment.
