What's Happening?
Hagen Rosskopf LLC, in collaboration with Bike Law GA, is organizing the annual Ride of Silence on May 20, 2026, in Decatur, Georgia. This event is part of a global initiative to commemorate cyclists who have lost their lives in traffic accidents and
to support those injured while riding on public roads. The Ride of Silence began in Texas in 2003 and has since become an international event held on the third Wednesday of May each year. Participants will gather at the Hagen Rosskopf law office in Decatur for a moment of remembrance before embarking on a 5-mile bike ride, which will be accompanied by bike marshals and a police escort. This year's ride is dedicated to Ken Rosskopf, a late partner of the firm who was a dedicated advocate for injured cyclists and who tragically died in a cycling accident last year.
Why It's Important?
The Ride of Silence serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers cyclists face on the roads and the need for increased awareness and safety measures. By honoring those who have died and supporting the injured, the event highlights the ongoing risks associated with cycling and the importance of advocating for safer road conditions. This initiative not only brings attention to the vulnerabilities of cyclists but also fosters a sense of community and support among those affected by cycling accidents. The dedication of this year's ride to Ken Rosskopf underscores the personal and professional commitment of the organizers to this cause, reinforcing the message that cyclists' safety is a critical issue that requires continued advocacy and action.
